About Us /
History
Laurie Willard founded Willard
and Sons, Inc. in 1984. Willard and Sons was
the first company in Marblehead to allow
mooring permit holders to purchase and own
their mooring tackle, instead of renting it.
Ultimately, this proved to be a better value
for the customer and has been adopted by all
other mooring companies today. In 1987, we
built our work barge Mooring Busters which was
re-powered in 2015 with new engines and
hydraulic systems.
Laurie's son Ben joined the
company in 2001 and has been running the
harbor side of the business while Laurie
continues to run the office and day to day
operations.
In 2012, we moved to a new
location on Barnard St. in Marblehead. Our new
shop gives us more space to work and store
materials and is only a block away from the
harbor.
Our focus has always been on
customer service and offering the best quality
products available. Marblehead Harbor is no
joke in a storm and we do our best to give our
customers peace of mind that their boat will
be safe.
Do not hesitate to reach out
with any questions or comments. We look
forward to seeing you on the water!
